Using Tags – Search with Tags: Filter by Topics and Keywords

Tags make it easier to search the database by specific topics.

Search with Tags

To search for specific graphics in the database, you can enter a term into the search field on the homepage, for example “Biology.” By pressing the Enter key, all graphics in the collection that contain the searched term in the title will be filtered. After entering a term, tags matching the search input will also appear below the search bar. These tags were already created by share users.

If you don’t want to search directly by graphic titles, but instead by entire topics and keywords, you can click on a suggested tag to filter the results by the selected term. If you activate the tag “Biology,” all graphics tagged with this keyword in their metadata will be displayed.

Adding Tags

It is recommended to add tags to your own graphics so that other users can more easily find them based on their content. To add tags, open your graphic in the single-graphic view and click on the “Metadata” tab. Then scroll down to the “Tags” section, where you can enter relevant keywords. These can be individual words like “Biology” or compound terms like “Braille-script.” If more than one word is used, they should be connected with hyphens.

After entering a keyword, matching existing tags will be suggested, which can be activated by clicking on them.
If the desired keyword does not yet exist, it can be added to the database via the “Add new tag” option. In the menu that appears, the tag can also be translated into other languages. Click “Save tag” to save the tag. Then save the changes to your graphic using the “Save” button at the top or bottom.
